One of my first posts on this blog was about Tender Greens. It’s been about three and a half years since I first stepped foot into one of their restaurants and I like to think that our bond grows stronger every day :) It all started with a simple tweet that led to being named the "Duchess of Tender Greens" on their blog and connecting with their Director of PR, Christina Wong.

A couple months back she reached out to me to join their team at
. Every year they sponsor Climb For Heroes, a charity hike hosted by
, which is an organization that works with the veterans, soldiers, marines, and military families and communities on all levels. Its mission is to improve the care and protection of heroes through individual support, community empowerment and systemic change. It was such an amazing event to be a part of.
To be honest, at first I was hesitant about accepting the invite because I had the
that same weekend. But how often does an opportunity like this come around? So after 17 hours of running and lack of sleep (Friday to Saturday), come Sunday morning I was up at 6AM ready to hike Mt. Baldy with Tender Greens and Project Heroes.
I had no idea of what to expect but it was such an awesome turn out. There were other sponsoring brands like
,
and
so participants were not short on goodies. I have to say the hike was quite a challenge after running a relay but I didn’t regret my decision one bit. Mt. Baldy has epic views and it’s a guaranteed booty blaster. Highly recommend it and I’ll definitely be going back. TFTI
